It is difficult to find any segment of our community that has not felt the pain associated with high unemployment. Why do we advocate May as Mental Health Month? We advocate because nearly 50 million American adults 18 or older report having a mental illness. According to the National Federation of Families for Children's Mental Health, one in five young people have one or more mental, emotional or behavioral challenges.
