    Amanda Buchanan’s son has tried to kill himself three times.

    He threatened to kill his teacher once and spent a week receiving psychiatric care at Seattle Children’s Hospital.

    He’s only 9 years old.

    “He was trying to choke himself, suffocate himself. He was telling us he was going to get up in the middle of the night and strangle himself,” recalled his mother.

  • Compass Health celebrates 115 years of providing services to our communities

    In 2017, Compass Health will be celebrating 115 years of service to our communities!  

    Compass Health was founded in 1902 by Lutheran Church members who were worried about children on the street and wanted a place that they could go for services.  In time, our Federal campus in Everett became home to an orphanage, the Parkland Children's Home. And in1964, those services transitioned into residential treatment services for children to form the Luther Child Center.

    Thank you Genoa Healthcare for partnership and for your dedication to our mission at Compass Health.   • “Back to School” Campaign Funds Awarded

    This years "Back to School" campaign was the most successful summer campaign in over five years with over $8,000 raised by our wonderful donors that support our work.

    This year we returned to a process that was used at Compass Health many years back, where managers and directors were able to apply for funding from the campaign for specific projects they would like to see addressed.
