Meeting the Complex Needs
of Adults
Adult Extended Care Clinics provide care for individuals over the age
of 18 in need of mental health services due to ongoing mental health disorders.
Services are individually tailored to the need of the individual. Additionally,
specialists in the area of geriatric mental health and disabilities are
available to provide services and consultation for older adults and developmentally
or physically (including those with traumatic brain injuries) disabled
adults receiving mental health services.
Among the services provided are (Note: not all services are available
in all clinics):
- Individual case management services
- Group services
- Residential treatment facilities
(Snohomish County)
- Housing services
- Protective payeeship services
- Employment services
(Snohomish County)
- Linkage to psychiatric services
- Socialization through our Everett Drop In Center, especially for
those who are homeless and mentally ill
Among the group services offered are:
- Psycho-educational groups for adults focused on developing living
skills that promote independence
- Groups for older adults in need of mental health services
- Groups developing skills for healthier living
- Groups for adults with co-occurring mental health and chemical dependency
disorders
- Senior peer support groups
- Employment groups to develop job readiness skills (Snohomish County)
Among the residential treatment services offered are:
- The Greenhouse (Everett) is an adult rehabilitative residential
center serving adults with severe and persistent mental illnesses. Services
are focused on assisting residents to gain the independent living skills
necessary to live as independently as possible in the community.
- Aurora House (Lynnwood) is a supervised living facility also
specializing in serving adults with severe and persistent mental illnesses.
Services are also focused on assisting residents to gain the independent
living skills necessary to live independently in the community.
- Haven House (Everett) is a supervised transitional living
program for homeless young adults (ages 18-24) with a mental illness.
