Culturally Sensitive and Relevant Services

Compass Health supports ethnic individuals and families, sexual minorities, and limited English speaking groups, including African Americans, Eastern Europeans, Asian/Pacific Islanders, Hispanics, Native Americans, and others. Our staff provide culturally sensitive and relevant services in a variety of languages.

Services include: crisis intervention, medication management, counseling, sexual orientation, counseling for HIV and HIV-related issues, and arrangements for translation services. These services are designed to improve and build interpersonal and coping skills; train and assist with improving and maintaining good mental and physical health; assist with funding and money management skills; and provide minority mental health consultations within Compass Health and other agencies.

  • The Asian-Pacific Islander Program (API) is an alliance of Compass Health and Whatcom Counseling and Psychiatric Clinic. The goal of the program is to provide professional services in a culturally sensitive manner to people of Asian or Pacific Islander heritage.
