Groups and Classes
Groups offer a unique way to help clients by sharing
others’ experiences. Compass Health offers a number of groups for both
adults and children. However, not all groups are available at all clinics.

Classes
Among the adult group services offered are:
- Psycho-educational groups focused on developing
living skills that promote independence
- Healthy Lifestyles groups focusing on promoting healthy eating and
exercise (Skagit County)
- Groups for older adults in need of mental health services
- S.H.A.R.E. (Self-Help and Recovery Education) groups developing skills
for healthier living (Snohomish County)
- Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) groups to develop emotional regulation
skills and healthier living
- Co-facilitated groups with community chemical dependency providers
for adults with co-occurring mental health and chemical dependency disorders
- Mentally ill, chemically addicted (MICA) groups
- Senior to Senior Peer support groups
- Employment groups to develop job readiness skills
- Parenting support
- Farm Project: a pre-vocational worksite program partnered with Washington
State University Extension
Some of the children’s groups include:
- children and adolescents, from birth to age 21, who have recently
disclosed sexual abuse
- social skills
- groups for children whose parents are divorced or in the process
of divorcing
CLASSES:
Low-cost life skills classes
are available to the general public. Subjects include such topics as anger
management, stress reduction, parenting tips, and child development.
