Chief Executive Team

Tom Sebastian, MS, MPA

President/CEO

Tom Sebastian has been with Compass Health since 1987. He started at Compass Health as the Coordinator for the Crisis Respite Residential Program. Over the next 8 years Tom was promoted to Manager, Supervisor, and then in 1995 as the Director for Adult and Older Adult Extended Care Services in Snohomish County. He moved into the role of Associate Director for Skagit, Island, and San Juan counties in 2000 and was integral in the partnership and merge with Community Mental Health Services. Tom developed the role of Chief Operating Officer, overseeing all clinical services, in 2005. Tom then moved into the role of President and Chief Executive Officer in 2007.

As CEO, Tom directs and provides overall oversight for programs, services, and activities established by the Board of Directors. Tom and the Board work together to advance the services Compass Health provides to the community while creating a supportive work environment for all staff.

Tom Sebastian

Becky Olson-Hernandez, LMHC, CMHS

Chief Quality Officer

Becky Olson-Hernandez has been with Compass Health since 2001 where she began as the Manager of Children’s Crisis Services and then advanced to the Director of Emergency Services.

She is a native of Washington State and received her Masters of Science at Western Washington University in 1994. Becky is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, Mental Health Professional, and Children’s Mental Health Specialist who has worked in the field in a variety of community-based and inpatient settings since 1987.

In her current role, Becky oversees the Quality Department, Training Department, Medical Records, and Information Technology. During her tenure, Becky has been involved with Compass’s Healthcare Integration initiatives, has provided operational support to the Behavioral Health Northwest, and has spearheaded several projects related to safety in the workplace.

In addition to her clinical and administrative experience, Becky is a Certified Mental Health First Aid trainer and has provided this training throughout the community since 2008. Becky most enjoys Compass Health’s mission and interacting with and supporting the amazing staff she works with every day.

Camis Milam, M.D.

Chief Medical Officer

Camis Milam joined Compass Health as the first Chief Medical Officer in October 2017 and is responsible for all medical services as well as the integration of quality medical services with the other clinical and social service functions of the organization.

Prior to moving to Washington, she had been Chief Medical Officer at the Center for Health Care Services covering Bexar County, Texas and Associate Professor/Chief Medical Officer at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio where she helped create and deliver integrated managed care projects for the Texas 1115 Medicaid waiver. Before succumbing to her passion for community mental health in 2002, Dr. Milam worked with the NASA/JSC astronaut corp. in her private practice in the Clear Lake/Houston area.

Camis is a graduate of Stanford University and the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston. A native of South Texas and fifth generation physician, she and her menagerie are enjoying their new lives in the Evergreen State.

Camis really enjoys the commitment to teamwork and collaboration that is such an integral part of the Compass Health way.

Camis Milam

LaJolla Peters, PHR/SHRM-CP

Chief Human Resources Officer

LaJolla Peters has been with Compass Health since January 2015. In her role at Compass Health, LaJolla provides leadership, direction, and administrative oversight for all aspects of HR. She is responsible for budget development, forecasting, strategic planning and strategic change as it realtes to all HR programs and activities. LaJolla also participates in agency strategic planning and collaboration with the executive leadership team.

LaJolla has served over 34 years in the healthcare industry, the previous 11 years with Whidbey Health in Coupeville, WA. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business with an HR Management Emphasis, and is certified as a Professional in Human Resources (PHR) and a certified professional with the Society of Human Resources Management (SHRM-CP). LaJolla loves people and is proud to support the Compass Health workforce in delivering care to the communities they serve.

She and her husband reside on Whidbey Island with a dog and a tortoise. Her personal interests include reading and gardening.

Stacey Alles, LMHC, GMHS

Chief Operating Officer

Stacey has been at Compass Health for over twenty years. She started her career as a clinician working with older adults, and eventually transitioned into management, first in the Quality department and now as Chief Operating Officer. In her role as COO, Stacey serves as a champion for client experience, operational excellence, and compassionate care. She is responsible for the continuum of clinical services provided by the agency.

She received her undergraduate degree at Saint Martin’s College in Lacey, and is a graduate of Western Washington University’s Masters in Mental Health Counseling program. She is a licensed mental health counselor and a geriatric mental health specialist. In addition she is a certified Mental Health First Aid trainer, and enjoys educating her community about behavioral health issues.

She and her husband live in rural Snohomish County.

Tamera Loesch, CPA

Chief Financial Officer

Tamera has been with Compass Health since February 2016. As Chief Financial Officer, Tamera is responsible for the financial management of the organization, which includes managing financial risks, budgeting and analysis, maintaining fiscal accountability, and financial compliance and reporting. In addition to the finance department, Tamera also oversees the purchasing, payroll, facilities, payee services, and housing program at Compass Health.

Working in a collaborative, forward thinking organization that is mission-oriented to support the whole individual in receiving behavioral health, housing, and linkage to basic needs and additional support is why she enjoys being part of the Compass Health team.

Tom Kozaczynski, MPA

Chief Development and Communications Officer

Tom Kozaczynski has been with Compass Health since March of 2013.

Tom’s previous positions include managing major corporate giving for the Seattle International Film Festival, foundation and annual giving at North Helpline Food Bank, the University of Washington, and the YMCA of Greater Seattle where he worked on program management and budgeting.

Tom has been actively involved in the Association of Fundraising Professionals Washington Chapter, Advancement Northwest, serving on multiple committees to support the philanthropy sector in our region. He is a member of the Rotary Club of Everett where he represents Compass Health and serves on various committees, including as a board member on the Everett Rotary Youth Foundation.

Tom holds his Bachelor Degree in Economics and Law, Societies, and Justice from the University of Washington, and holds his Master of Public Administration from the Evans School of Public Policy and Governance at the University of Washington with an emphasis on non-profit management and fundraising.

At Compass Health, Tom is in charge of major foundation, corporate, and individual giving, and oversees the growth and strategic development of Compass Health’s Development Department. Tom’s favorite part about working at Compass Health is connecting the passions of donors and funders in our community to the amazing and life-changing work being done by our staff each day. He believes we have the most highly trained, professional, caring, and mission driven people of any place that he has worked.

Missy Judd

Chief Executive Assistant

Missy has been with Compass Health since April of 2016. Missy brings 10 years of executive assistant and management experience to the Compass Health Team. Missy directly supports the CEO Tom Sebastian, along with assisting the entire Executive Team. Her extensive experience with all executive tasks has tailored her skills to meet Compass Health’s various needs.

In addition to her duties as Executive Assistant, Missy participates as a Co-Champion for the Living Healthy Mental Health First Aid Accelerator and is on a local Executive Assistant Roundtable.

Missy lives in the local area with her husband and two kids. In her spare time, Missy and her family enjoy camping, gardening, traveling, and cooking.
