Support, Your Way: Medication Services with Flexibility

As a behavioral health provider, we understand that recovery is a journey – and that no two paths are the same. Each client’s experience is unique, and we’re here to support them every step of the way.

That’s why we offer a spectrum of services, designed to meet clients where they are. This client-centered approach inspires us to continue innovating and evolving – most recently through the launch of our Low Intensity Tract (LIT) Program.

The LIT Program was created by our medical services team to ensure that Compass Health can provide medication treatment services to clients who may not be actively engaged in our outpatient therapy program – a shift made possible by a recent change in Washington Administrative Code (WAC) requirements.

There are many reasons a client might seek medication support from Compass Health without participating in therapy at our organization. Some may already have an established therapist, while others might be at a point in their journey where they’re not currently seeking therapy. Regardless of their circumstances, we believe that access to essential medication treatment should never be a barrier – and the LIT Program helps make that possible.

Through the LIT Program, we’re empowering both youth and adults to access the medication support they need, and the response has been overwhelmingly positive. Currently, over 230 individuals are enrolled in the program – 32 percent of whom are under 18.

In fact, this program was designed with youth in mind. It’s not uncommon for children and adolescents to already have long-standing relationships with trusted therapists while still needing medication management.

For example, one of our 8-year-old clients with autism had been seeing their therapist three times a week for hourslong sessions. When referred to us for medication support, we were able to intake them through the LIT Program – allowing them to continue their established therapeutic relationship without disruption, while also receiving the medication care they needed from us.

One of the most valuable features of the LIT Program is its built-in flexibility, which allows clients to tailor their treatment journey to their evolving needs. Clients can seamlessly engage with or step back from other Compass Health services – such as outpatient therapy – without ever losing access to their ongoing medication treatment. This continuity of care eliminates the need to restart lengthy intake processes with new providers and ensures clients can maintain momentum in their recovery.

The LIT Program is current available to both youth and adults in Snohomish, Skagit, Whatcom, Island and San Juan counties. To learn more about the program and how you or someone you care about can get started, [click here].
