Building Communities of Hope raises funds and awareness for Compass Health’s child, youth, and family services. For one night, we come together to celebrate the transformation taking place in the lives of children, youth, and families in the five counties we serve and to raise funds to support this life-changing work.

We invite you to join us on April 27 to celebrate mental health and raise funds for our child, youth, and family programs. Our 7th annual gala, Building Communities of Hope, will take place at Tulalip Resort Casino and feature nationally acclaimed comedian, writer, actor, and mental health advocate Aparna Nancherla who recently published, “Unreliable Narrator: Me, Myself, and Imposter Syndrome.”

Aparna Nancherla is an acclaimed comedian, writer, and actor. Praised by critics and fans alike for her distinctive dry, existential, and whimsical sense of humor, Aparna has toured her standup comedy extensively around the U.S. and the world. A true multi-hyphenate, Aparna’s work spans film, TV, podcasts, and books.
Most recently, Aparna’s debut book Unreliable Narrator: Me, Myself, and Imposter Syndrome, a collection of personal essays, was published by Viking, an imprint of Penguin Random House in September 2023. Unreliable Narrator received widespread recognition, with The Los Angeles Times calling the book a “super-smart, deliciously readable, achingly poignant…new collection of essays.”
Aparna presently hosts “The Introvert’s Survival Guide,” a new eight-part self-help interview podcast that premiered on Audible via Fresh Produce Media, which features a plethora of notable guests such as Seth Meyers, Elyse Myers, and Eric Smith.
On TV, Aparna has starred in many memorable roles on such series as Peacock’s LOPEZ VS LOPEZ, Max’s SEARCH PARTY, Netflix’s SPACE FORCE and BOJACK HORSEMAN, and Comedy Central’s CORPORATE. Her TV stand up appearances include Netflix’s THE STANDUPS, HBO’s TWO DOPE QUEENS, and Comedy Central’s THE HALF HOUR. Aparna’s late-night standup debut was on TBS’s CONAN in 2013 and she was one of the breakout “New Faces” at the prestigious JUST FOR LAUGHS FESTIVAL in Montreal. She’s since made appearances on THE LATE SHOW WITH STEPHEN COLBERT, LATE NIGHT WITH SETH MEYERS, and THE LATE LATE SHOW WITH JAMES CORDEN.
Aparna has also written for Apple TV+’s MYTHIC QUEST: RAVEN’S BANQUET, as well as LATE NIGHT WITH SETH MEYERS, and FX’s TOTALLY BIASED W. KAMAU BELL.
In 2018, Aparna made her feature debut in the Paul Feig movie A SIMPLE FAVOR and was most recently seen in Hulu’s THE DROP.
Aparna has also contributed multiple op-eds to The New York Times.
She lives in Los Angeles.

Benefitting Programs

Child & Family Outpatient

Provides an array of counseling and support services to children, youth, and families that may have emotional and/or behavioral health challenges.

Camp Outside the Box

A camp specifically designed for children and youth in the WISe program and gives them a chance to experience a traditional summer day-camp while practicing their social skills and goals.

Therapeutic Foster Parenting

Specialized foster care for children who have behavioral health challenges, often resulting from abuse and/or neglect. Our Foster Parents receive more support and training than state-run foster programs.

Children’s Intensive Services (WISe)

supports children and their families in the least restrictive environment by honoring the family’s voice, choice, strengths, and natural supports.

Child Advocacy Program

Provides therapeutic services to children and adolescents who have been sexually abused.

Camp Mariposa

A national addiction prevention and mentoring program for youth who have been impacted by substance abuse in their families.

A look back at 2023

Compass Health’s Building Communities of Hope has successfully returned after being virtually celebrated since 2020. The sixth-annual event was held in the sold-out ballroom at the Tulalip Resort Casino and had record sponsorship. Thank you to all our generous sponsors and guests who made the night a success. At the end of the evening, $225,000 was raised for our child, youth, and family programs.
