A step closer to healing: Thank you to state leaders for funding the Marc Healing Center
At 3322 Broadway Avenue in downtown Everett, construction crews are installing light fixtures and adding final paint touches. The Marc Healing Center is in the last stage of construction, and Compass Health couldn’t be more excited to open the purpose-built facility to meet our region’s most intensive behavioral health needs this fall.
A facility of this caliber is truly transformative, and bringing it to life has required an immense amount of time, coordination, and dedication from the project teams behind it. It also demanded a significant financial investment.
The project is grand in scale, spanning four floors and 70,000 square feet, and in its long-term impact, housing a diverse array of intensive services. Once complete, it will include a 16-bed evaluation and treatment unit (E&T), a 16-bed crisis triage center and dedicated space for other intensive outpatient behavioral health programs. The building’s design and finishes, including state-of-the-art equipment, infrastructure, and systems, will enable us to operate these programs effectively and serve clients with dignity, while ensuring staff safety and well-being.
From trauma-informed design elements to thoughtfully furnished client rooms and calming recreational and outdoor spaces, the Marc Healing Center sets a new standard for community-based behavioral healthcare.
We’ve shared updates in the past about the support we’ve received to fund this project, including a significant investment from the State of Washington. We’re excited to announce that support has expanded following the legislature’s approval of an additional $5 million in capital funding during the 2025 legislative session.
This investment is crucial to successfully opening and sustaining the Marc Healing Center. It will alleviate financial pressures and allow us to focus our efforts on operating the facility, ensuring it remains a valuable regional resource for decades to come.
We are especially thankful for the leadership and advocacy of our legislative champions, including Senator June Robinson, Representative Julio Cortes, and Representative Mary Fosse, as well as the chairs of the capital budget, Senator Yasmin Trudeau and Representative Steve Tharinger.
We recognize the challenges the legislature faced this session, working under the strain of a multibillion-dollar budget deficit and coping with the loss of a senator and former House speaker. It was an especially difficult and emotional year, and we commend our state leaders for their determination and resilience.
To receive funding for our project during such a turbulent time is a profound demonstration of the state’s commitment to behavioral health and community well-being. We are incredibly grateful for that support.
We look forward to opening the doors of the Marc Healing Center – doors to recovery, hope, dignity, healing, and so much more. Doors built through the dedication of our incredible advocates at the state, county, and city levels, as well as our many partners and community champions.
