We are so excited to announce a $1 million gift from the Sunderland Foundation in support of our Broadway Campus Redevelopment project, which will create a state-of-the-art regional center in downtown Everett to integrate behavioral healthcare, primary healthcare and permanent supportive housing services.

“We are profoundly grateful to the Sunderland Foundation for their remarkable commitment to this project and our efforts to bring our exciting vision to reality. It’s amazing to see a project of this scale and impact garner such ardent support from charitable foundations and the larger philanthropic community,” said Tom Sebastian, Compass Health CEO and president.

Phase one of the Broadway project is set to open in April 2021 with 82 new units of permanent supportive housing, helping relieve critical homelessness issues that have been exacerbated by health and economic challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic.

“We know that this has been a difficult year, and fortunately, this project has given us the foresight to address some of the new challenges that our communities will face in the coming years,” said Tom Kozaczynski, chief development and communications officer at Compass Health. “This gift is an incredible gesture and affirms the work that our amazing teams accomplish daily – we’re truly humbled by the Sunderland Foundation’s support.”

The Broadway Campus Redevelopment project fulfills the Sunderland Foundation’s goal of addressing challenging healthcare needs. As a 75-year-old organization with a long history of success, the Sunderland Foundation board recognized the same will and fortitude embodied by Compass Health to champion positive outcomes. The Foundation’s board also noted their confidence in Compass Health’s ability to execute a project of this scale and complexity, voicing their support for the impact the completed campus will have the Everett community and underserved populations.

“We’re grateful for the opportunity to support Compass Health – this project reflects our mission to support bold initiatives that act as economic and social generators in the community,” said Randy Vance, president and chief operating officer of the Sunderland Foundation. “At the end of the day, we know that this vital project is about more than just the buildings themselves, it’s truly about Compass Health’s ability to exponentially impact individuals throughout the community.”
