One PacificCoast Bank Sponsors Compass Health

With the Compass Health Building Communities of Hope Breakfast approaching, we wanted to take a moment to highlight our newest organization sponsor, One PacificCoast Bank. With a business banking model unlike any other in the region, they wanted to share their story of how their banking practices are beneficial to the communities we all so deeply care about. Cynthia Weaver mentioned in the article, just recently toured Compass Health's Bailey Center to learn more about the comprehensive mental health services we offer in Snohomish County.

"Our vision is of a banking industry that is fair to the person with the least bargaining power and provides access to financial services for all our communities.

When the bank was created, the founding team donated all the economic shares to One PacificCoast Foundation. That means the Foundation owns all of the economic rights of the Bank -- when profits of the Bank are distributed, they can only be distributed to the Foundation which is mandated to reinvest those proceeds back into the communities and the environment on which we all depend. In our theory and experience, this ownership model aligns our incentives with the triple bottom line and the values of our bank customers.

We sum up this philosophy in the phrase “Beneficial Banking.” One PacificCoast offers a full line of traditional banking services, but with a distinct focus on the traditionally underserved: low-income communities, sustainable businesses and job creation. And we look for ways to help non-profit organizations and for-profit businesses that typically find conventional financing out-of-reach - such as those focused on specialty agriculture, renewable energy, green building, and low-income housing as well as socially beneficial corporations and women-owned and minority-owned businesses.

One PacificCoast Bank has offices in California, Oregon and Washington, and we are very interested in expanding our reach into Snohomish, Skagit, Island, and Whatcom counties.  One PacificCoast Bank is already very active in the remaining western counties in the state.  If you are interested in learning more about how One PacificCoast Bank may benefit you, your organization, employer, or company, please contact Cynthia Weaver, VP/Relationship Manager at 206-909-6834 or cweaver@opcb.com.  Ask about our current Beneficial Banking Deposit or lending options!

Cynthia Weaver is a Snohomish County resident whose previous experience includes employment with local community banks including Frontier Bank (now Union Bank) and Mountain Pacific Bank in Everett.  She is a UW graduate with experience in industries outside of banking, including writing, office administration, sales and management, commodities, the aircraft industry, and industrial laser sales (yes, lasers!).  She and her husband own a small business, Complete Landscape Edging, which installs concrete curbing, primarily for residential use, around flower beds, gardens and driveways. Owning her own business gives Cynthia a personal experience and understanding of what her banking customers are going through and their financial needs.  She also volunteers through the Zonta Club of Everett, and has a good understanding of the operations of a non-profit.  Perhaps most importantly, Cynthia chose to work for One PacificCoast Bank because of her own deep philanthropic values, preferring to see that the profits made from the banking products she provides go to supporting those businesses, non-profits, and social enterprises most closely tied to her communities, not into shareholder pockets.  If you have similar values, and wish to see your money have a larger, positive impact on the earth and your community, please contact her to learn more!!"
