Compass Health Sponsors New Behavioral Health Scholarship Opportunity with Rotary Club of Everett

“We’re honored to partner with the Rotary Club of Everett to sponsor this scholarship,” said Tom Kozaczynski, Compass Health’s chief development and communications officer. “Now, more than ever, our behavioral health systems are facing pressure to respond to the increase in individuals reaching out to receive treatment for mental health challenges, and we want to help foster a bright future for the workforce that will ultimately ensure our communities are cared for and supported.”

Totaling $6,000, the scholarship is available to current students at Everett, Cascade and Sequoia high schools who will graduate in 2021.

“As a Rotarian and Compass Health board member, I’m especially proud to sponsor this scholarship, recognizing that it will help remove financial barriers for students,” said Sean George, Compass Health board member. “This is an incredible chance to express our appreciation for the work that community-based behavioral health professionals do to support the mental health of our family members, friends and neighbors, and we couldn’t think of a more fitting opportunity.”

The winner of the Compass Health Bright Futures Scholarship will be announced in May 2021 at the Rotary Club of Everett’s annual scholarship awards ceremony. Rotary is an organization of business and professional leaders united worldwide to provide humanitarian service and build goodwill and peace. In 2020, the Rotary Club of Everett provided $214,000 in scholarships to 47 students from the Everett area.

“As a fellow nonprofit, Compass Health recognizes the importance of championing local organizations with similar goals in order to amplify opportunities in our region,” said Kozaczynski. “We’re excited to advocate for what we believe will be a meaningful contribution to the future of behavioral health and encourage all those who qualify to apply.”

Interested applicants should visit the Everett Public Schools website, or consult with their student counselor to apply. The deadline is March 2, 2021 at 11:59 p.m. For questions, or to learn more about Compass Health and community-based behavioral healthcare, please visit: www.compasshealth.org.
